Think about all of the moments when you “needed” the customer to say yes; the loan to come through; or the promotion to be you...& it didn’t happen?
this week we’re closing out actor Matthew McConaughey’s book “Greenlights.” (I highly recommend by the way)
Running low on cash, McConaughey asked for a off-handed favor while finishing his steak. “Can you get me a meeting with an agent because I need some work.”
The guy snapped & taught McConaughey a valuable lesson, “If Hollywood senses you‘re needy, you’re done before you even start. Get out of town & don’t come back until you are ready to not need it..”
From that point on, Matthew McConaughey walked into meetings wanting the role, but not needing it.
Today on TSL we explore the difference between “wants” & “needs?”
